This event has entered the 9th tournament jointly organised by Sunway Velocity Mall and Cerdik Catur Enterprise. Nearly 1,000 participants have already participated in this tournament since it was introduced for the first time at the end of last year (2017) until now. The chess tournament has an interesting concept and the fees are cheap and affordable ('MESRA RAKYAT'). 

The 9th Sunway Velocity Mall Chess Challenge will be held on 30th September 2018. 14 OCTOBER 2018 (NEW DATE). As usual two categories will be contested namely a) Open Category (AMATEUR) b) Under-12 Category. Some of the best prizes have been introduced again this time i.e. Best Private Employee, Best Under-17, Best Under-14 and Best prize for disable people (OKU).
